The Special POCSO Court (Session Judge) in Karauli has given a strict verdict in the case of rape of a 15 year old girl. The court found the accused Neeraj guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹ 1 lakh. During the hearing in the court, 14 witnesses and 20 documents were presented.
The girl was raped with her hands and legs tied
Special Public Prosecutor Gajendra Sharma said that this case is of Bhamchari police station area. In February 2025, when the victim’s parents had gone to a wedding in the neighbourhood, accused Neeraj lured the minor and took her to the bathroom of his house. There he tied her hands, strangled her and raped her. No one could hear her screams because the DJ was playing at the wedding.
Both were found unconscious
When the victim did not return home for a long time, her elder sister started searching for her. After reaching the accused’s house, he pushed open the bathroom door, where he saw the accused and the victim in distress. Fearing stigma in the society, the victim’s family kept the matter quiet for about three months. But, when the accused kept taunting and molesting the victim, the victim’s father was forced to lodge an FIR at Bhamchari police station in May 2025.
Statements of 14 witnesses were recorded
During the hearing, Special Public Prosecutor Gajendra Sharma recorded the statements of 14 witnesses and presented 20 documentary evidence on behalf of the prosecution. Based on the arguments and evidence from both sides, Special Judge Brijesh Kumar Sharma convicted the accused on charges of POCSO Act and rape. The court sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
