Bengaluru. BJP national general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Radhamohan Das Agarwal on Thursday objected to the enumeration forms for special intensive vetting allegedly being filled en masse at religious places and places pointed out by Congress leaders. He called it unfair. Addressing a press conference at Jagannath Bhawan, the BJP state headquarters in Bengaluru, Radhamohan Das Agarwal alleged that the Congress was trying to use the SIR process for political purposes. He said, “Enumeration forms are being filled en masse at religious places and places suggested by Congress leaders. This is not the correct procedure.
Aggarwal said that BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission that booth level officers are not delivering the forms door-to-door as per the prescribed rules.
He said, “The Election Commission has given clear instructions that BLOs should go to every house and distribute the forms. We have raised this issue with the commission.”
He also informed that BJP has organized meetings and training sessions for its Booth Level Agent-2 workers, so that they are prepared for the SIR process.
Taking aim at the state government, Aggarwal alleged that it was not utilizing the BLA-2 workers appointed by the BJP. Responding to another question, he said that the internal matters of the party have been discussed with the elected representatives.
Attacking Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge, Aggarwal said, “Priyank Kharge, no one pays attention to what he says. His comment on the Kumkum issue was also not appropriate.”
Let us tell you that Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge, while raising questions on the issue of applying tilak, had claimed that 90 percent of saffron comes from Islamic countries, after which a political controversy had arisen.
On reports of cross voting, Aggarwal said that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for it.
“There is a constant rapport between the BJP and JD(S). We are in regular touch and talks are ongoing. A coordination committee has been formed, which has BJP state president BY Vijayendra, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R Ashok and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi as members,” he said.
Responding to another question, Aggarwal claimed that the opposition’s activities were ultimately proving beneficial for the BJP.
He said, “Our political opponents are engaged in Muslim appeasement, are immersed in corruption, consider us weak and are constantly making political mistakes. All this works in our favor in the end. We need not say anything more on this.”
Expressing confidence about the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections, Aggarwal said that the voters will give the same verdict against the state government as he said was given against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“People are preparing for the 2028 assembly elections. Just as voters in West Bengal responded to Mamata Banerjee, they will respond to the Congress government in Karnataka,” he said.
When asked about his performance as BJP’s Karnataka in-charge, Agarwal said his success or failure should be decided by party workers.
