The fair has started at the Karni Mata Temple located in the forest of Sariska Buffer Zone, below the Bala Fort of Alwar. On this occasion, a large number of devotees started reaching the temple since morning and an atmosphere of faith was seen in the entire area.
On the inauguration of the fair, Minister of State for Forest and Environment Sanjay Sharma reached the temple in the morning and performed aarti and worshipped. After this, hundreds of devotees reached the temple for darshan between 5 and 6 in the morning. The enthusiasm of the devotees was also reflected in the fact that access to the temple was closed for several months.
In fact, due to heavy rains last year, the road leading to the temple was completely damaged, due to which devotees were not able to go to the temple for a long time. Even after almost 9 months have passed, the repair of the road has not been completed by the Public Works Department (PWD). Despite this, this time on the occasion of the fair the administration has allowed limited number of devotees to visit the temple.
However, this entire area comes under the buffer zone and tiger territory of Sariska Tiger Reserve. Keeping this in mind, the administration has issued strict guidelines for the devotees. People have been clearly instructed to go to the temple only through the prescribed route and not try to go inside the forest under any circumstances.
Strict security arrangements have been made by the forest department and administration to ensure the safety of the devotees and there is no disturbance to the natural habitat of the wildlife. Constant monitoring is being done in the area and people are also being made aware.
Experts say that caution is extremely important during such events in protected forest areas like Sariska, because there is presence of tigers and other wildlife here. In such a situation, any kind of carelessness can create danger.
At present, there is an atmosphere of reverence and enthusiasm in the Karni Mata fair. A large number of people are arriving for darshan, while the administration is keeping a close watch on the situation, so that this religious event can be conducted in a peaceful and safe manner.
