Oslo, May 19 (). Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the India-Norway Business and Research Summit in Oslo on Monday. The summit was attended by CEOs of more than 50 companies and more than 250 participants from the business and research community from Norway and India. After attending the summit, CEOs of many companies, while talking to news agency , praised PM Modi for making it easier to do business in India.

Christian Sorensen, CEO, BW LPG, said, “Our company has been investing in India for the last seven-eight years and we can see how much the Prime Minister’s dedication and commitment to making the ease of doing business in India has contributed to the overall business environment. For us, this has been a very important part of our success story in India.”

Ramesh Mutha, Chairman and Managing Director, Mohan Mutha Exports Pvt Ltd, said, “The business meeting was very wonderful and Norway is a very long-standing partner of India and this globalization and the Prime Minister’s visit to Norway have opened doors to further strengthen our cooperation, especially on energy sector, shipping and fuel. And this country is very beautiful and the people are very polite and we are also looking for cooperation joint venture in Norway.”

Jotun CEO Morten Fon said, “India has changed a lot in the years since we have been there (India). I think, one example of this is how trade has been made easier between states within India and Prime Minister Modi talked about shipbuilding in India today and that is very close to my heart.”

Alf-Christian Dybdal, CEO of Laerdal Medical, said, “This summit was great. It was very interesting to hear different speakers and different ideas. India is a very exciting market for all of us and I think it has a lot of potential. Today we got a little glimpse of some of those areas. It’s really interesting.”

Rajat Mehta, Chairman, Wealth Mehta Equities Pvt Ltd said, “I think it is wonderful, wherever PM Narendra Modi goes, there is a different atmosphere and a different collaboration, participation and a different relationship. I think his energy and his ability to bring people from all countries together is being seen. I think for the last 6 days he has been on the road continuously. So I think it is a great effort by the Prime Minister and his team.”

“Energy security is at the top of our agenda. We are also supporting India with crude oil and LPG for cooking gas and now we also have a long-term contract to import LNG into India,” said Anders Opedal, CEO of Equinor.

“India and Norway are very different countries, but they have some similar values in terms of how international business should be done. Shipbuilding is a huge opportunity for India.
