Mayawati has started the exercise to strengthen the BSP, which is getting weak in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. He is trying to bring back the leaders who left the BSP and have also started the exercise to bring back his lost political support base. The impact of the political roar of the BSP is now visible on the ground. Mayawati has announced a big rally in the capital Lucknow on the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram on 9 October. Mayawati has planned to unite her supporters on 9 October and make them realize her political strength. It is considered to be the formal beginning of BSP’s ‘Mission 2027’. The BSP is currently engaged in its mission in UP without any noise. It is trying to bring back the lost support base of the party. In this way, Mayawati is engaged in making the BSP self -sufficient before 2027. If the BSP is strong then the political mathematics of UP will go wrong and the tension of Samajwadi Party will increase the most.
Where is the BSP standing in Uttar Pradesh today?
The BSP is trying to return to the politics of Uttar Pradesh. The BSP, which has aroused political consciousness in the Dalit community, came to power in the state four times and also achieved the title of being a national party. Mayawati became CM four times and formed the government with an absolute majority in 2007, but after 2012 the party graph started falling, so it has not stopped yet. In the 2022 assembly elections, the BSP was reduced to just one seat, while the party’s account did not open in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BSP’s vote share declined to 9.39 percent. Many big leaders of BSP have left the party in the last few years. Mayawati’s grip on the Jatav community has weakened and non-Jatav Dalits are completely shattered. The BSP cadre also went with the ‘India’ block due to the constitution and reservation issue in the 2024 election. Kanshi Ram had created politics of Bahujan society by uniting Dalits and backward in the eighties, but now it is limited to the Jatav community only. In this way, the BSP is going through its worst phase, due to which the challenge of saving her political existence has arisen in front of Mayawati.
Mayawati became active before 2027
Mayawati has planned to enter UP’s election field once again after almost two decades. Mayawati has become active to deal with the efforts of other opposition parties to take over the deprived class votes. Mayawati is camping in Lucknow and has formed several committees, which have been entrusted with the responsibility of connecting people from different sections of the society to the BSP. Mayawati is realizing the situation, for which she is adopting strategies like dialogue at the booth level. Mayawati’s strategy is to bring backward, Dalit and minority votes together. These days senior BSP leaders and workers are going from village to village to meet at the booth level. These meetings are not only emphasizing on uniting Dalit voters, but people of the most backward classes and Muslim community are also being linked to the party.
All the big leaders from BSP state president Vishwanath Pal are engaged in organizing the cadre camps to include leaders of other parties in the BSP. All the divisional coordinators of the BSP are holding meetings to strengthen the BSP in their respective areas and are engaged in joining the party of small and big leaders of other parties. It has been decided to formally start ‘Mission-2027’ on 9 October of BSP founder Kanshi Ram. That is why BSP chief Mayawati has included Ashok Siddharth, father -in -law of her nephew Akash Anand, back to the party. Earlier, Akash Anand has also been propagated political and he has become politically active.
BSP’s Dalit-backward-Muslim formula
This time the BSP has adopted a strategy to carry out its preparations in a confidential and systematic manner. After the defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha and the 2022 assembly elections, Mayawati has seen the panchayat elections this time as an opportunity to revive her political power. The party has decided to change its strategy and activate the leaders at the local level and give a chance to new faces. Mayawati is trying to form a Muslim equation with Dalits and backward, on whose formula Akhilesh Yadav has managed to beat the BJP in 2024. Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) equation has been a hit in 2024. BSP was eliminated in the fight between BJP and SP. In such a situation, Mayawati wants to make UP bipolar politics triangular.
