Noida . The heat has now started showing its anger in the NCR region. According to the latest forecast of the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature has crossed 40 degrees Celsius from today itself and it is likely to increase further in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding the heat wave since two days, due to which people have been advised to remain alert. According to the IMD report, the maximum temperature in NCR is expected to be around 41 degrees and minimum 21 degrees on April 20 and 21. These days the sky will be mainly clear and no warning has been issued. However, from April 22 the weather will become more hot. The temperature on this day may rise to 42 degrees/22 degrees and the heat wave will remain in effect throughout the day. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heat wave at all three times in the morning, afternoon and evening on 22 April. The situation is not expected to improve even on 23rd and 24th April. These days the maximum temperature can be 42 degrees and the minimum can be 23 degrees.
Humidity is also expected to increase to 70 percent on April 24, due to which the humid heat can further increase people’s problems. The Meteorological Department has clarified that avoid going out of the house in the afternoon and consume enough water. Meanwhile, the air quality in NCR is also becoming worrying. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and other agencies, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in many areas of Delhi has reached the moderate to poor category.
AQI was recorded at 282 in Anand Vihar, 226 in Ashok Vihar and 218 in Bawana. The AQI in Aya Nagar was 169, which falls in the moderate category. Talking about Noida, AQI was recorded at 233 in Sector-1, 209 in Sector-116, 185 in Sector-125 and 182 in Sector-62. The situation appears to be worse in Ghaziabad, where the AQI was recorded at 321 in Loni and 317 in Ved Vihar-Loni, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. Apart from this, 257 AQI was recorded in Govindpuram and 234 in Vasundhara.
Experts say that due to rising temperature and slow wind speed, pollutants are accumulating in the atmosphere, due to which the air quality is deteriorating. In such a situation, children, elderly and respiratory patients need to take special precautions. The coming days in NCR are going to be challenging on both the fronts of heat and pollution. The administration and health department have appealed to the people to take necessary precautions and follow the guidelines issued by the meteorological department.
