Shimla. Addressing the intellectuals’ conference organized in Shimla under the “12 years of faith, development, public welfare” campaign organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Union Minister of Health, Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers and former National President of BJP, Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the 12 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be written in golden letters in the history of India. He said that these 12 years are not just the tenure of one government, but are transformative years that lay the strong foundation of a developed India. Jagat Prakash Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new record by working as the Prime Servant of the country for 4399 consecutive days. This achievement is not just of one person but is a symbol of the faith, support and hopes of 140 crore people of the country. He said that when the country completed 75 years of independence, Prime Minister Modi invoking Amrit Kaal had pledged for a developed India by the year 2047 and in the last 12 years, a strong foundation of that resolution has been laid. He said that before 2014, the country’s politics revolved around casteism, nepotism, appeasement and corruption. The common citizen had accepted that governments change but the system does not change. The people had come to terms with their circumstances. Prime Minister Modi changed this thinking and made politics a medium of service, good governance and accountability. Today the common citizen dares to raise his voice against corruption because he is confident that the government will listen to him.
Nadda said that Prime Minister Modi gave the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” to the country. Earlier, governments were formed with everyone’s vote but were limited to one family, caste or region. Today Modi government is functioning as the government of 140 crore Indians.
He said that the resolutions for which the Bharatiya Janata Party and crores of its workers struggled for decades, were fulfilled by Prime Minister Modi. Removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, construction of a grand Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, liberating Muslim women from the evil practice like triple talaq and implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act are such historic decisions which the previous governments kept postponing only for political reasons.
Nadda said that the Modi government has received the blessings of the public for the third consecutive time. In all the three Lok Sabha elections held after 2014, BJP has emerged as the largest party in the country. Out of 75 major elections held in the last years, BJP and NDA have won 43. Today 78 percent of the country’s citizens live in BJP and NDA ruled states. This is a proof of the public’s faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the pro-people policies of the BJP.
He said that in the last 12 years there has been an unprecedented revolution in the infrastructure of the country. There has been an increase of 200 percent in the electrification of railways and 100 percent railway electrification has been completed in Himachal Pradesh. National highways, tunnels, four lane projects and modern transport networks have changed the face of the country. He said that today world class roads and infrastructure are being built in India.
Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, he said that more than 4 lakh 30 thousand kilometers of rural roads have been built across the country while more than 14,400 kilometers of rural road network has been developed in Himachal Pradesh. This has achieved great success in connecting the villages with the mainstream of development.
He said that through Ujjwala scheme, crores of women have got freedom from smoke. Gas connections have been provided to approximately 1.5 lakh families in Himachal Pradesh. Through Jal Jeevan Mission, tap water has been supplied to crores of homes across the country and 100 percent homes in Himachal Pradesh have been connected to drinking water facility.
Nadda said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 12 crore toilets have been constructed across the country. About two lakh toilets have been built in Himachal Pradesh. This campaign is not just a construction work but a campaign to protect the honor and dignity of women.
He said that through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, permanent houses have been provided to crores of poor families. In Himachal Pradesh also, more than one lakh families have benefited from this scheme.
Referring to the historical expansion in the health sector, Nadda said that in the year 2014, there were about 376 medical colleges in the country, which has increased to more than 820 today. Medical colleges have been established in Chamba, Hamirpur and Nahan in Himachal Pradesh, while the establishment of AIIMS in Bilaspur has proved to be a milestone for the health sector of the state.
He said that today India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in the defense sector. Defense exports have increased by 5700 percent and India is now exporting defense materials to many countries of the world. BrahMos missile, indigenous defense equipment and modern military technology are proof of India’s growing strength.
Attacking terrorism and Naxalism, he said that Prime Minister Modi has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. India has now become a nation that takes decisive action against terrorism. There has been a historic improvement in the situation in Naxalism affected areas due to expansion of development, roads, education and health facilities.
He said that the success of Chandrayaan-3, preparations for Gaganyaan mission, mobile manufacturing, semiconductor production, Digital India, Vande Bharat trains, modern airports and optical fiber network are the hallmarks of India’s new confidence.
Nadda said that today’s India is confident, strong and a leading India on the world stage. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving towards immortality and every worker of BJP is working with full dedication and devotion to realize the resolve of a developed India.
