Jaipur. In view of the monsoon season, the Municipal Corporation has completed preparations for disaster management. Flood control centers have been set up at various places in the city from June 15 till the end of monsoon. Commissioner Om Kasera has instructed all the officers to remain on alert mode. Flood control centers have been set up at many places in the Municipal Corporation area including Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar, Vishwakarma, Khirni Phatak, Banipark, Ghatgate and Amer. Through these centres, arrangements will be made to deal with waterlogging, cleaning of drains and emergency situations in the respective zone areas. Apart from this, separate control rooms will be operated at each zone office, the responsibility of which has been assigned to the respective Zone Deputy Commissioners. The Commissioner directed that adequate arrangements of motor pumps, pumpsets and other resources should be made for drainage of water in waterlogged areas during rains. Besides, instructions have also been given to repair open electrical wires in public places, cover drains and put up warning boards in accident prone areas. Complaints received at flood control centers have been asked to be immediately resolved and recorded in the register along with recording the time for resolution.
The Municipal Corporation has put the officers and employees posted at fire stations and other places on duty in three shifts, so that 24-hour monitoring and relief work can be continued.
