Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh STF on Saturday arrested a person from South Delhi, who used to cheat Indian men by creating fake IDs in the names of women from America and Britain on social media. Three mobile phones and four SIM cards were recovered from the accused. The accused has been identified as Uchneva. He is originally from Nigeria, who was involved in such activities for a long time. Till now he has cheated many people with the help of fake ID. He was arrested from South Delhi and immediately taken to Daryaganj police station in Lucknow. According to the police, the accused used to create IDs on social media in the names of women from America and Britain. After this, after contacting Indian men, he used to try to woo them towards himself. After this, whenever someone fell into his trap, he would tell them that I will come to India and meet you, but before that I want money and some gifts from you. That was an excuse to meet him when he came to India.
According to the information, during this entire process he used to cheat only Indian men. Now the police has arrested him from South Delhi. The police is now trying to gather complete information about this from him.
According to the police, the accused came to India in 2010 to do clothing business, but when he did not get any expected profit in it, he along with his friends made a plan to defraud Indian men by creating fake accounts in the name of women from America and Britain on social media.
The accused told during police interrogation that some of his associates were creating fake accounts on social media to extort money from Indian men. Not only this, the accused also revealed that in the year 2020, Madhya Pradesh Police had arrested him in the same case. In this case he remained in jail for four years.
After this, when the accused and his other associates planned to extort money from a youth from Lucknow by creating a fake account on social media, then the whole matter came to light and now he has been arrested by the police.
Actually, in the Lucknow case, the accused and his associates had created a social media account in the name of William Davis on social media. After this, she befriended a young man from Daliganj, Lucknow and tried to trap him in love. After this, in September 2025, the young man is told that William Davis has brought three crore pounds for you, but to get it, first you will have to deposit Rs 61,500.
After this, a total of Rs 28 lakh was taken from the young man on some pretext or the other. This entire process continued till January 2026, but the young man did not get even a single rupee back. After this the young man lodged a complaint about this entire matter in Lucknow police station. After this, this entire matter has come to light after police investigation. At present, the police is now investigating this entire matter and trying to find out who are the people involved in it.
