Noida, October 20 (). Noida Police Station Sector-49 has busted an active gang involved in mobile phone theft and snatching and arrested five vicious accused.

Police have recovered a total of 11 stolen and snatched mobile phones, a scooter without number plate and a motorcycle from their possession. The police have taken this action on the basis of local intelligence and confidential information.

According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Deepanshu alias Deepu son of Mahipal (18 years), Chand Mohammed son of Rafiq (21 years), Kunal Kumar son of Chandan Prasad (20 years), Kunal Yadav son of Pappe Yadav (21 years) and Lalit Kumar son of Babbu Kumar (21 years).

All of them were surrounded and caught from the vacant ground behind Jalvayu Vihar. During police interrogation, it was revealed from these accused that they used to mark crowded or deserted roads in advance for committing crimes. After this, they used to target people walking or talking while riding on bike or scooter with mobile phones in their hands.

As soon as they got a chance, they would pounce, snatch the mobile phone and run away. The snatched mobiles were later sold at cheap prices. Even at the time of being caught, the accused were trying to sell the mobile.

According to police records, several serious cases are already registered against the gang members. Several cases of BNS and NDPS Act are registered against Dipanshu, Chand Mohammad and Kunal Kumar, while cases are registered against Kunal Yadav and Lalit Kumar in Sector-49 police station.

Police have recovered 11 stolen and snatched mobile phones, an unnumbered scooter and a motorcycle from them. Sector-49 police station has now started searching for other members and buyers associated with the gang.

The police have appealed to the general public to use mobile phones carefully while walking on the road and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
