New Delhi, 12 September (). The number of arrests of prisoners fleeing from Nepal jails on the Indo-Nepal border has increased to 67.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has arrested 32 and fugitive Nepali prisoners in the last 24 hours. A woman is also included in these arrested prisoners. All agencies on the border are cautious after the high alert is issued from jail brake incidents amidst the ongoing unrest in Nepal.
According to police and SSB officials, protests against corruption and nepotism became violent during the protests of Jane-G in Nepal. This led to more than 15,000 prisoners from more than 24 jails across the country. Many of these are trying to escape towards India. SSB has increased the border surveillance through 50 battalions posted in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. The arrested prisoners have been handed over to the local police and they are being acted upon under the Foreign Act.
Giving information about the incidents, the SSB said that a jail break took place on Tuesday night in Jelleshwar in Mahotari district of Nepal, in which hundreds of prisoners fled. Apart from this, prisoners also escaped from Kathmandu’s Delhi Bazar Jail, Rame Chhap district jail and other places. On Thursday, three prisoners died and a total of eight prisoners died in a clash between prisoners and security personnel in the rama raid jail.
The Nepal Army has handled the jails, but there is chaos. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had to resign and curfew has been imposed in many areas.

Apart from this, it is being said that Jenji also demonstrated against the corruption of the Nepal government. The protest in Nepal became violent, in which many youths died. At the same time, many were injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
