Bihar elections became the most discussed issue of the year 2025. During the election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Bihar needs NDA government, not Katta government. After this, Mukesh Sahni, the Deputy Chief Minister candidate from the Grand Alliance, said that they talk about the gun, but we will talk about the pen. However, the people of Bihar took this issue in hand and supported Katta’s statement along with Jungle Raj and gave bumper seats to NDA in the election results.
There was a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha over the comments made by Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding Chhath Puja. Rahul Gandhi had said that PM Modi has nothing to do with Chhath Puja. They just want your vote. You can make them do any drama for votes, they will do it.
Meanwhile, the statement of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also made a lot of headlines. He said in Patna that the “lantern era” is now over in Bihar. According to him, now lanterns are neither available in shops nor in people’s homes. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish, Bihar has now entered the era of LED bulbs. He also claimed that up to 125 units of free electricity is being provided in the state and about 1 crore 70 lakh families have not received electricity bills for the last four months. He called it a historic decision.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also launched a scathing attack on Congress and Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul Gandhi does not even understand the ‘B’ of Bihar, hence he is giving irresponsible statements at the time of elections. He said that before commenting on Bihar and its hardworking people, Rahul Gandhi should look at his past. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was also in the news for his statements. Taking aim at the opposition grand alliance, he said that there is no vacancy for the post of Prime Minister and Chief Minister in Bihar till the year 2047. Keshav Prasad Maurya addressed the Grand Alliance with words like ‘Lathbandhan, Thugbandhan and Hathbandhan’. He alleged that this alliance is immersed in the arrogance of power and still considers the people as slaves.
Meanwhile, controversy also arose after Rahul Gandhi was seen fishing in a pond in Begusarai during the Bihar election campaign. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain took a dig at this, saying that this is another episode of Rahul Gandhi’s “reel drama”. Apart from this, a statement of Humayun Kabir, the suspended MLA from Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, also increased the concern across the country.
