Lucknow. From films to web series and now senior theater artist and film actor Dr. Anil Rastogi, active in theatre, has been selected for Padmashree. He has received the prestigious honor for his decades of outstanding contribution in the field of acting and theatre. The actor told in a special conversation with that along with films and theatre, he is also doing social service. Film actor Dr. Anil Rastogi expressed his happiness on being honored with Padmashree 2026 and said, “It is a matter of pride for me and I have received many other awards along with this. I have received honors from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments, but now I am heartily thankful to the government for honoring me with Padmashree, because they have recognized my work and appreciated my hard work.”
The actor said, “I have a science background and have also been a former scientist of the Central Drug Research Institute. I don’t think anyone would have worked in the field of art for as long as I have. I have just completed my 100th play and have been working in the field of art for 64 years. There are four genres of art: someone works in radio, someone on stage, someone in TV and someone in films. I think I am the artist who has worked in all four genres. I have worked in crime shows and daily soaps and have also worked in films and OTT.
Actors are not just heroes of theater and films, but are also serving the poor in real life. The actor, along with his brother, runs Hariom Seva Kendra, where they help in the treatment of the poor and needy. He told that he has been running Hariom Seva Kendra for the last 27 years. Through the organization, expensive injections, blood arrangements, ambulances and dialysis kits are being provided.
