Amritsar . A new controversy has emerged in the politics of Punjab, where BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party regarding the FIR lodged against Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh termed this action as ‘politics of revenge’. Talking to the media, he said that the person who was a part of the party and the government till yesterday, has suddenly been made a criminal today because he decided to leave the party due to ideological differences. Chugh alleged that only after the ‘corrupt face’ of Aam Aadmi Party was exposed, many leaders are keeping distance from it and the public will respond to this politics. Tarun Chugh said these things after visiting the holy places Shri Ram Teerth Temple and Durgiana Temple located in Amritsar. Referring to the religious and historical importance of these places, he said that this land has been sacred for ages. According to belief, Lord Valmiki’s ashram was located here and Mother Sita also resided here. He said that Luv and Kush had stopped the horse of Ashwamedha Yagya here and Hanuman had also come here. Describing this place as ‘Devbhoomi’, Chugh said that the water of the lake here is like nectar and he came here and took the blessings of Hanuman ji and Lakshmi Narayan.
Chugh also reacted strongly to the recent uproar in the Punjab Assembly and allegations of corruption against the state government. He said that the incidents witnessed in the Assembly and Cabinet meetings under the influence of power and intoxication are extremely unfortunate.
He alleged that those who talk about running a campaign against drugs are themselves immersed in it. He also raised questions on the police being sent to Delhi to register a case against Sandeep Pathak and arrest him and called it political vendetta.
Chugh said that many prominent leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party have left the party from time to time, which include names like Prashant Bhushan, Kiran Bedi, Shazia Ilmi, Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas and Raghav Chadha. He claimed that now only those people are left in the party who are associated with power and corruption, while people who see the truth are continuously leaving the party.
During political rhetoric, Chugh also targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said that the people’s mandate has already been given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and people have made up their mind to remove the “ruthless Mamata” government.
