Chandigarh. Minister of Public Works and Public Health Engineering of Haryana. Ranbir Gangwa said that the Public Works Department will now form a Vigilance Cell. This cell will look after the work of investigating the complaints received regarding the quality of roads, building construction or department related works etc. in the state. If irregularities are found, legal and departmental action will also be ensured against the concerned. Not only this, he has also instructed the SE and EXIN of the department to check the quality of 18 roads every month and send the report to them. Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa held a review meeting of the Public Works Department in the Secretariat on Wednesday, in which Additional Secretary of the Department Hitesh Kumar Meena, EIC Rajeev Yadav, HSRDC MD VS Malik, SE, XEN officers from different areas of the department were present, while SDOs connected through online medium. District wise progress report and status of road construction works were discussed in detail in the meeting. Minister Ranbir Gangwa gave clear instructions to the officials in the meeting that the buildings whose construction work has been completed should be immediately handed over to the concerned department.
He said that the tenders filled in mines for roads, buildings or other works related to the department should be compulsorily examined so that there is no scope for compromise on quality at any level. Whenever road construction work is going on, SDO and JE should also remain in the field and check from time to time. If any negligence is seen in work or any complaint is received from the public, then take immediate action and send a report. Gangwa said that it is the responsibility of every officer to live up to the expectations of the public. Now that era is over when work was postponed by suppressing files. The public wants an account of every action, and we have to answer. He said that he will also monitor it himself.
*Took status of “Mhari Sadak” app*
The status of ‘Mhari Sadak’ app was also discussed in the meeting. Officials said that so far 6523 complaints have been received, out of which 2611 complaints have been resolved. The minister said that this app is a direct bridge between the public and the department. The complaints which are pending should be dealt with on priority.
*Special instructions regarding fog*
Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that the coming time will be full of fog, hence special attention should be paid to road safety. He directed officials to immediately install white strips, reflector painting, and warning sign boards on the roads. Gangwa said visibility reduces in winter, and this is the time when most accidents occur. Small improvements can save many lives. Roads are not just a means of transportation but also a promise of safety. He has instructed officials across the state to make all the arrangements before the fog season in all the districts.
*Five seats have come, still talk about vote theft, in reality the public taught them a lesson*
After the meeting, while talking to the media in his office at the Secretariat, Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa, while answering a question, fiercely targeted the Congress. He said that Congress is still chanting the slogan of vote theft. If votes were stolen then how did they get five seats? They have no option left but to spread confusion. They should understand that in reality the public has responded to their activities. Gangwa said that Congress has been continuously trying to mislead the public. During the Lok Sabha elections, he had said that if BJP government is formed for the third time, he will change the Constitution. The politics of scaring the public by spreading such rumors will no longer work.
On the question related to the memorandum submitted by Congress to the Governor regarding Haryana, Gangwa said that Congress’s hand with the poor is only for show. When BPL cards were made, they said, where did so many poor people come from, now as the income has increased, some names have been removed, so they are unhappy. Now he is remembering the farmers, what were they doing when their lands were being looted during his rule? Their eyes were closed when jobs were sold. He said that the BJP government has worked on the strength of transparency, accountability and public trust.
