Chandigarh, July 8 (). Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday appealed to eligible voters to complete the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) process on priority. He said that participation in this is necessary to protect the constitutional right to vote and to continue getting the benefits of government welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister said that only those whose names will be included in the new voter list after submitting the SIR form will be able to exercise their franchise and avail the benefits of government schemes.
Assuring people of full support, he said anyone facing difficulty in filling the SIR form should seek assistance from local Aam Aadmi Party volunteers.
In a message to the people, Mann said that it is very important for every eligible voter to fill the SIR form so that their name can be included in the new voter list.
He said that if their names are not in the voter list, they will not be able to exercise their democratic right to vote.
He urged every Punjabi to complete this process on time and protect this invaluable right.
The Chief Minister said that the objective of SIR is to strengthen democracy at the grassroots level and appealed to the people across the State to participate enthusiastically.
He assured full support and cooperation to every citizen during this process.
Congratulating the women of Punjab on the launch of Maavan Dhyan Satkar Yojana, the Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled another big promise made to the people.
