Jaipur. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that expressways are not just a medium of transportation but are highways for all-round development of the region. This will boost employment, industry and investment in the areas through which the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is passing. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was addressing the general meeting at Gopalpura Mandana in Kota on Wednesday. He said that 75 to 80 percent work in this project has been completed at a cost of about Rs 1.10 lakh crore and the remaining work is also progressing rapidly. He expressed confidence that in the next two years it will be possible to travel by road from Delhi to Nariman Point and Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai in about 12 hours.
Kota region gets important road projects
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways announced on the occasion that a link road will be built from NH-52 to connect the 8-lane Delhi Mumbai Expressway to the 8-lane Delhi Mumbai Expressway, bypassing Mukundara Wildlife Sanctuary, at a cost of approximately Rs 550 crore. Along with this, he also announced the construction of a 21 km long four-lane greenfield link road to connect Kota via Balapura Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. He said that efforts will be made to start the work on these projects within the next three months. He also said that DPR work has also been started to connect Bhawanimandi with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
He said that a new expressway will be constructed parallel to the Chambal river from Kota to Etawah, which will be named Atal Expressway in place of the earlier proposed Chambal Express Highway. He said that it is dedicated to the workplace and memories of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. DPR of this project costing about Rs 15 thousand crore is being prepared and construction work will be started soon.
The Union Minister said that Rajasthan is a very important heritage of the country from historical, cultural and tourism point of view. Rajasthan is moving forward under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the double engine government is working with full commitment for the development of the state. He said that the Central Government will continue to provide all possible support to make Rajasthan an ideal state of the country and there will be no shortage of funds for development related projects here.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim is to make India a 5 trillion dollar economy. For this, it is necessary to create world-class infrastructure in every sector including agriculture, industry, trade and service sector. Modern roads, tunnels and transport networks will form the strong foundation of a developed India. He said that Rajasthan is not only a land of historical and cultural heritage but also a land of inspiration. May Rajasthan become Sujalam, Sufalam, prosperous and prosperous and bring prosperity in the lives of villages, poor, farmers and laborers. This land of Maharana Pratap gives new strength to the country’s resolve for a self-reliant India and a developed India.
He said that after the formation of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, the development of infrastructure was given top priority. A strong foundation for the economic development of the country has been laid by increasing investment in sectors like water, energy, transport and communication. He said that where quality infrastructure is developed, industry, trade and capital investment grow, employment opportunities are created and poverty is eliminated.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the unprecedented construction of infrastructure like roads, tunnels and expressways in the country is the result of the trust of the people of the country. He said that India is moving rapidly towards building world-class infrastructure through modern technology and innovation. He said that so far about 80 lakh tonnes of waste has been used in road construction. Along with this, new technologies like bio-bitumen are being used.
In the program, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that under the leadership of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, a new history of road infrastructure development has been created in the country. He said that no one had ever imagined that a world class corridor like Delhi-Mumbai Expressway would be developed connecting areas like Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Alwar and Jhalawar. He said that ambitious road projects like Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Bharatmala being developed by the Central Government will provide new impetus to the development of Rajasthan.
He said that the Mukundara Tunnel Project, an important part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, is a unique example of modern Indian engineering. Built with world-class technology in the difficult plateau region, special care has been taken of modern facilities like safety and ventilation in this tunnel. This is proof that today India has progressed far in engineering.
He said that to facilitate the connectivity of Kota with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, DPR of 4 lane spur elevated road from Kota (DCM) Road to Umaidganj is being prepared. The state government has also approved development works worth about Rs 5 thousand crore for the development of Kota district in the last two and a half years. Along with strengthening road, rail and air connectivity, work is being done on many important development projects in Kota. He said that Kota is an important center of education, culture, industry, agriculture and mineral wealth. Due to the continuous efforts of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the cooperation of the Central Government, the development of Kota and Hadoti region has got a new direction.
On this occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has created such a strong network of highways and roads within the country, which has led to India’s prosperity, prosperity and progress rapidly. The aim of the government is to bring positive change in the life of the last person of the society. He said that the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will bring prosperity in the lives of the people of the region and it will prove to be a lifeline for the development of the country in the times to come.
Praising Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that the state government is working on an action plan to provide water to the fields of every farmer in the state. He said that projects like Yamuna Water Agreement and Ram Jal Setu will prove to be a strong foundation for building a developed, self-reliant and water secure Rajasthan.
Earlier, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reached Bundi’s Laban Interchange to inspect the expressway by road, where he participated in a program organized with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He also stopped en route and took stock of the work on the expressway. During this, the Chief Minister visited the stalls of paddy, sand stone and Rajivika in the exhibition organized at the venue.
On this occasion, Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar, Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar, MLA Sandeep Sharma, Kalpana Devi, Dr. Suresh Dhakad and other public representatives, officials and general public were present.
