Jaipur. The state government has taken major steps to strengthen the dairy network in Rajasthan and provide support to cattle farmers. Cabinet Minister of Animal Husbandry, Cow Husbandry, Dairy and Devsthan Department, Jora Ram Kumawat held a high level review meeting of the Dairy Department at the Government Secretariat on Tuesday. Managing Director (MD) of Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) Shruti Bhardwaj and all senior officers of the department were present in this meeting. The meeting witnessed detailed discussion on budget announcements, pending payments and infrastructure development.
Online Allotment Policy for Transparency
The Cabinet Minister gave major instructions to bring transparency in the dairy network. Now under the new allocation policy, online applications will be taken to open milk cooperative societies and milk collection centres. Their allotment will also be completely online.
Committees will be able to set up BMC at their own expense
Minister Kumawat also reviewed the allocation of Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC). Giving information about an important reform, he said that under the new policy, milk committees will now be able to establish BMC with their own capital investment. This will help in maintaining the quality of milk.
Infrastructure expansion: New plants ready
In the meeting, preparations for the inauguration of new processing and cattle feed plants completed in the state were reviewed. Minister Kumawat said that another new processing unit with a capacity of 10 lakh liters per day is ready in Jaipur Dairy and a new processing plant with a capacity of 50 thousand liters is ready in Rajsamand. At the same time, a modern cattle feed plant with a capacity of 300 tonnes per day in Pali and a cattle feed plant with a capacity of 150 tonnes per day in Gulabpura have also been completed. Necessary guidelines were given regarding the inauguration of these newly constructed plants. Shri Kumawat also informed that a strategy was also made for the bhoomi pujan of a new cattle feed plant with a capacity of 150 tonnes per day in Kota.
Payments and Plans Review
The Dairy Minister directed the officials to set deadlines to implement the budget announcements on time. Along with this, the progress of Chief Minister Dugdh Sambal Yojana and Pannadhay Bal Gopal Yojana was reviewed. He gave strict instructions to immediately settle all pending payments of cattle farmers and dairies. Minister Kumawat made it clear that the main objective of the government is to strengthen the rural economy and increase the income of livestock farmers, in which negligence will not be tolerated at any level.
