The academic session of 2026-27 in government schools of Rajasthan will start from April 1 with new enthusiasm and widespread public participation. Officials said that to commemorate this beginning, Praveshotsav 2026 is being organized as a big campaign across the state. The objective of the campaign is to increase enrolment, reduce dropout rates and ensure that every child is connected to education. The education department has completed all necessary preparations and has issued guidelines from the state level to the school level to ensure smooth implementation. This year, Praveshotsav is not being run as just a formal event but as a focused mission to bring every child into the mainstream of education. A key feature of this year’s initiative is an intensive door-to-door campaign.
Officials said that under the phases scheduled on March 27, April 6, April 10 and April 15, teams of Anganwadi workers, teachers, school staff and local representatives are going door-to-door to identify children aged 3 to 18 years and ensure their enrolment. He further said, this massive effort aims to ensure that no child is left out of the education system and awareness about school education reaches every family. The recently held Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) has laid a strong foundation for this campaign.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar, ACS (Education) Rajesh Yadav and Director Sitaram Jat personally visited schools to review preparations and promote communication between parents and teachers. This initiative has increased transparency and strengthened the confidence of parents in government schools. In an important step, teaching-learning activities will begin in full swing from the very first day of the academic session.
The department has ensured timely delivery of textbooks. Most of the books have reached the districts by March 25 and the remaining books will be delivered by April 1. This ensures that the goal of learning from day one becomes a reality in all government schools. To promote the all-round development of children, a digital health check-up campaign will be launched from April 16.
Regular health check-up of students will be done and necessary medical assistance will also be provided to them. In addition, special educational activities will be held in May to strengthen basic education and improve overall education outcomes.
