Hubli, February 25 (). The final match of Ranji Trophy 2025-26 between Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir will be played at D.R. Hubli. It is being played at Bendre Cricket Stadium. Early in the morning on the second day of the match, Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra lost his temper and head-butted a Karnataka fielder. A situation of controversy arose after this incident.
The incident occurred in the 101st over of Jammu and Kashmir’s innings, when Dogra and Kanhaiya Wadhawan were batting. Dogra edged the ball of Prasidh Krishna and hit a four, after which there was some altercation between Dogra and forward short leg fielder KV Aneesh. Dogra pounced directly on Anish and hit him on the head. Later Mayank Agarwal intervened.
The reason for this is that KV Aneesh is continuously using inflammatory words. After hearing the inflammatory words for a long time, the Dogras lost their temper and became the attackers.
Later the umpires intervened. After the over, Dogra apologised. However, Anish was not ready to forgive. Earlier, on the first day, a bouncing bouncer from Vaishak Vijayakumar hit Dogra’s glove, forcing him to retire hurt after scoring 9 runs off 48 balls on the first day.
After the incident between Dogra and Aneesh, another incident happened. Fast bowlers Vijaykumar Vaishak and Wadhawan collided with each other. The incident occurred while Wadhawan was running a single. On his way to take the single, his left elbow collided with the pacer. Both the players came face to face.
Jammu and Kashmir has reached the final of Ranji Trophy for the first time and is giving tough competition to Karnataka. Batting after winning the toss, Jammu and Kashmir scored 464 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 139 overs on the second day.
Shubham Pundir was out after scoring 121 runs. Abdul Samad was out after scoring 61 runs and Yawar Hasan after scoring 88 runs and Kanhaiya Wadhawan was out after scoring 70 runs. Paras Dogra was playing with 65 runs and Sahil Lotra was playing with 25 runs.
