Amritsar. In an accident in the BRTS Corridor near New Amritsar area of Punjab, three devotees traveling on the roof of the bus died on the spot, while one person was seriously injured. The accident occurred when the passengers sitting on the roof of a bus filled with devotees returning from Baba Budha Sahib collided with a latter above the BRTS lane. Passengers fell as soon as the collision occurred and three passengers died. According to the information received from the police, this bus came to Amritsar at the fair of Baba Budha Sahib with devotees from Muktsar Sahib and was returning.
The driver near the Golden Gate tried to quickly remove the bus from BRTS lane. There were about 15 passengers sitting on the roof of the bus, who did not get an idea of the height of the lanth and they hit it.
In the accident, three devotees died on the spot, while another was seriously injured, who was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. The surprising thing is that even after the accident, the bus driver did not know the accident and he kept driving the bus. Later, a car driver overtake the bus and informed about the accident.
The police have registered a case in this case and started investigation. Police have been conducting raids to catch the absconding bus driver since the accident.
Investigating officer AK Sohi while talking to said that the dead are being identified. Also, the families of the injured have been informed and they are being treated. The injured people are being questioned in the accident, so that the correct information of the accident can be found.
