Dinesh Tomar Jaipur. On the call of United Valmiki and Safai Workers Union, the movement of sanitation workers continued for the third consecutive day in entire Rajasthan including Jaipur. In various municipal bodies of the state, sanitation workers boycotted the cleaning work and demonstrated in support of their demands and submitted memorandums to the administration. Due to the movement, regular cleaning system was affected in many cities. A large number of sanitation workers gathered at Sanganer Zone Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. The program started by organizing a tribute meeting on the sudden demise of sanitation workers Rahul Adiwal and Vishal Chanwaria. The present employees paid tribute to both the deceased colleagues by observing two minutes silence and expressed condolences to their families.
After the tribute meeting, a huge rally was taken out from Sanganer Zone Stadium. The rally passed through various routes via main markets and Sanganer Mandi and concluded at the designated venue. During the demonstration, the sanitation workers raised slogans in support of their demands and demanded an immediate solution from the government. The employees involved in the agitation clearly said that until their demands are not resolved, their agitation and boycott of cleaning work will continue.
The widespread impact of the movement was seen in other cities of the state also. Sanitation workers showed their solidarity by demonstrating in many municipal bodies including Dausa, Lalsot, Hindaun, Dholpur, Karauli, Gangapur, Churu, Bassi. Employees took out processions at various places and submitted memorandums to the local administration.
To continue the movement for a long time, the sanitation workers have also decided to provide financial support. Under this, each employee will contribute Rs 10 to conduct the movement, so that the necessary expenses related to the movement can be borne.
Sangh officials said that this movement will be completely peaceful, but no relaxation will be given until the demands are met. The employees also appealed to find a solution through talks with the government.
Announcing the next phase of the movement, it was told that on June 30, 2026, demonstration will be held from PWD Square, Pandit Ji Square and Hasanpura area in Civil Lines Zone. After this, an indefinite protest will be started at the heritage headquarters located at Jalebi Chowk. During the Mahapadav, sanitation workers, officials of employee organizations and members of Sangharsh Samiti will continue their protest in support of their demands for 24 hours.
Safai Karamcharis organizations say that until the government takes a positive decision on all their pending demands, the boycott and agitation against sanitation work will continue across the state.
