Jaipur,. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Sarpanch is the voice of the village and the first step in Gram Panchayat governance. The state will become stronger only by strengthening the Panchayats, because the path of development passes through the villages. He said that with this objective the state government is empowering the villages by realizing the basic mantra of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Sharma was interacting with the administrators (outgoing sarpanches) of gram panchayats of seven divisions of the state at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. He said that Sarpanch is not a post, but a medium of service and determination. Sarpanch is the first person to whom every citizen of the village comes with hopes. The village first looks towards the Sarpanch for the benefits of public welfare schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi, pension, MSP, drinking water, electricity, housing, toilet construction, road, school, Anganwadi or health centre. He said that only the Sarpanch knows better to what extent the benefits of public welfare decisions and schemes of the government are reaching. In this situation their feedback is very important.
State government is strengthening gram panchayats
The Chief Minister said that we are strengthening Gram Panchayats to establish a corruption-free, transparent and accountable Panchayati Raj system. Construction and renovation of Gram Panchayat buildings is being done and Atal Knowledge Center will also be established in every Gram Panchayat. He said that we have formed new district councils in the newly formed 8 districts. Similarly, under the reorganization and creation of Panchayati Raj institutions, 85 new Panchayat Samitis and 3 thousand 417 new Gram Panchayats have been formed. We appointed Sarpanches as administrators even after the tenure of Gram Panchayats was over so that our villages could get maximum benefit from your experience. Sharma said that the Central Government has prepared a new roadmap for rural development by improving the earlier MNREGA scheme and implementing the Vikas Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural).
Upliftment of every class is our resolve
Sharma said that the state government is working determinedly for the upliftment of all sections of the society including youth, women, poor and farmers. We have freed the youth of the state from the paper leaks that happened during the time of the previous government and conducted recruitment examinations in a fair and transparent manner. More than one lakh government appointments have been given and recruitment on 1 lakh 44 thousand posts is under process. He said that for the empowerment of women, an incentive amount of Rs 1.5 lakh is being given under the Lado Incentive Scheme. Farmers are being empowered financially through Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and cattle rearers are being empowered financially through Gopal Credit Card, Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana and a grant of Rs 5 per liter on milk.
The Chief Minister appealed to the outgoing Sarpanches to disseminate information about the public welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments to the common people and ensure that their benefits reach the last line. In the program, Gram Panchayat administrators gave their suggestions regarding the development works of Gram Panchayats and the upcoming budget. Chief Minister Sharma assured him to take appropriate decisions on important suggestions as per rules.
