Beijing, July 13 (). After the arrival of July, summer consumption in China is increasing rapidly. On July 1, the 62-day railway summer transportation officially started across the country.
National Railway Group estimates that during the summer holidays, passengers will travel by railway 1 billion 10 million times. The average daily passenger count will be 1 crore 62 lakh 90 thousand times, which will be a new record in the same period.
Civil aviation summer transportation also began on the same day. Passenger numbers from civil aviation are expected to reach 14 crore 20 lakh during the summer holidays.
1 billion 10 million times that’s not just a number. This means that more than 1 crore 60 lakh people are on their way every day. This means countless families are expected to pack. This means that all graduates have a role model to aspire to.
According to data from the tourism platform, search popularity related to “summer travel” was 238 percent higher than in June. Search popularity for “bachelor trip” increased 175 percent since June. At the same time, the search popularity related to “family travel” is 166 percent more than in June.
When people move around, money also moves around. Transporting so many people connects the entire consumer chain, including catering, hotels, tourism destinations, transportation and retail. In the first half of this year, 313 million people visited Shanghai. The cultural and tourism consumption generated by this was 5 trillion 43 billion 32 crore 60 lakh yuan. Which is 17.6 percent more than the same period last year.
Nearly 200 cultural and art exhibitions opened in Shanghai after the summer holidays. The cultural and tourism combined ticket for passengers started launching on 8 July. After purchasing a combined ticket, tourists can visit more than 20 museums, tourist sites and business districts.
It is clear that the consumer boom is driven by government policy. The third batch of national trade-in subsidies worth 62 billion 500 million yuan was launched in the summer holidays. The Sichuan provincial government issued cultural and tourism consumption vouchers worth 30 million yuan for the elderly and children.
The Jiangsu provincial government issued consumption vouchers worth 345 million yuan respectively to boost summer consumption. Guangdong Province issued 23 special tourism lines and also issued cultural and tourism consumption vouchers worth 30 million yuan. At the same time, consumption vouchers issued in Quoyang city of Henan province include experiences such as eating food, watching a movie and wearing Hanfu, i.e. traditional Han clothes.
Some people say that summer spending is just seasonal. But if looked at closely, this is a small form of upgrading of citizens’ consumer demand. Young people want to visit a city for a concert. Parents want to spend money for their children’s study tour. At the same time, elderly people want to travel by tourist train to escape the heat. Behind every choice is a desire for quality of life and a belief in economic perspective.
More than 1 billion people are on their roads. Consumption vouchers worth millions of yuan are boosting the economy. This summer, the economic heat in China is not only reflected in the thermometer, but also in the tourism plans, consumer choices and life expectations of every ordinary person.
