According to reports, a young man named Manjeet Kumar, resident of Barihi Basti, got electrocuted. The family took him to Saharsa Model Hospital for better treatment. No doctor or any staff member was found there. After this, the family members made the young man lie down on the bed in the ward and started rubbing his hands and legs vigorously. But, the young man remained unconscious.
Video of treatment with slippers goes viral
Seeing this, a man accompanying him started hitting the young man’s feet with slippers. Someone present in the ward made a video of the behavior done with the slippers and posted it on social media. There was a stir in the hospital administration after this video went viral. According to the family, the youth was brought to the hospital after being electrocuted. There was no doctor available to treat him, so we took whatever local treatment we could find.
The family said a nurse later came to see him. She gave him a glucose bottle and an injection. The nurse said that the doctor would come shortly, but no doctor came. The patient’s family raised questions on the hospital arrangements. He said that patients are brought here for treatment, but there is no arrangement.

There was a stir in the hospital administration after the video went viral. Regarding the behavior of slippers, Civil Surgeon Ratan Jha said that he has also received information about the incident. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a board will be formed to investigate and strict action will be taken against the culprits, but people said that investigation and action is just a hope to calm the matter.
