Sol, 16 September (). A rebellion case against former South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-Su will begin at the end of this month. The court said on Tuesday that it would be held once a week.

According to a report by the Yonhap news agency, Han is accused of helping former President Union Suk Yeol implement martial law in December, give false testimony, incorrectly presenting and destroying government documents, and involvement in other criminal activities.

During the first pre -trial hearing in the Sol Central District Court on Tuesday, the bench said that the formal hearing will begin from September 30 and would move fast with a hearing every Monday.

In the first formal hearing, CCTV footage of 3 December will be introduced. This is on the same day when it was announced to implement martial law from the President’s office.

Prior to the declaration of martial law by Yu, on the suggestion of Han, he called a cabinet meeting at the President’s Office.

The footage allegedly features Han to declare martial law from the meeting room and collect printed documents with the name of Yu’s nation.

It is also shown to Han allegedly consulting the investigation of the completion of the quorum for the cabinet meeting and consulting with the then Home Minister Lee Song-Min after the meeting ends.

Han’s prosecution accused him of preparing a revised manifesto after 3 December, which aims to increase the validity of the order and later destroy it.

He was also accused of lying in the Constitutional Court and the National Assembly that he was not aware that Un Union had given him a copy of the martial law manifesto until the order was withdrawn.

Han did not join the pretial hearing on Tuesday as it was not needed.

Earlier in August, a special counsel team accused Han on charges of provoking Yu to fail to implement martial law.

According to the team of Special Advocate Cho Un-Suk, Han was accused of inciting the kingpin of rebellion, giving false testimony, incorrectly presenting and destroying government documents, and other crimes.
