Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that strictest legal action should be taken against the gangs involved in drug trade. He also instructed the police and administration to run a special campaign towards making the state drug-free. Besides, he gave special directions to effectively curb gangsters and hardcore criminals by taking the harshest legal action.


While presiding over a high-level meeting of the Home Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday, Sharma said that to eradicate the drug problem, special monitoring should be done by identifying the routes of the supply chain related to it. Besides, strict monitoring and vigilance should be ensured in the border areas also. Destroy small to big networks
He said that action should be taken under a special action plan to break the network of organized gangs involved in the drug trade and all small and big networks should be destroyed. For this, police, drugs controller, health department and other agencies should make coordinated efforts. Also, he directed regarding effective legal advocacy against the persons arrested in drug cases.
Run a campaign against cyber crime
The Chief Minister said that action should be taken against cyber crime on priority. In areas where incidents of cyber crime are taking place, special campaigns should be launched against the gangs associated with them. These campaigns will continue until such crimes are completely eradicated from the area concerned.
Progress monitoring should be done every 10 days.
Sharma said that due to the efforts of the state government, there has been a significant reduction in crimes in the last two years. He said that the progress of action against criminals should be monitored every 10 days. Responsibility should be fixed for negligence in these matters.
Adopt modern techniques in policing
Sharma said that in the digital age, crimes have also started becoming hi-tech. In such a situation, the police should also adopt modern policing by using modern techniques in action against criminals.
Be aware of the ill effects of drug abuse
The Chief Minister said that drug addiction is the root of crime and it has far-reaching side effects on society and families. Therefore, awareness programs should be promoted in schools and colleges regarding the ill effects of drug abuse. He said that the police should join hands with social sector organizations to make the general public aware about the POCSO Act and other laws.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma and senior police officers were present in the meeting. At the same time, Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police from different districts were connected through VC.
