New Delhi . President Draupadi Murmu on Friday presented the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award to 20 children from 18 states and union territories in recognition of their extraordinary achievements and contributions in various fields including art, culture, sports and innovation. President Murmu also gave his blessings to the awardees. One of the students who received the award told news agency that he received this award for two innovations in the innovation category. I have created two AI software applications which help in the movement of fingers and hands of paralyzed patients. These have also been patented and copyrighted by the Government of India. Among those who received the award, there is a small child who took care of the food of the Indian Army during ‘Operation Sindoor’. After receiving the award from the President, she said, “I am very happy to receive this award. I never dreamed that I would receive this award and meet the President.”
The award winner told that when ‘Operation Sindoor’ started and Pakistani drones were also coming from across the border, the Indian Army was also deployed near his fields. He said, “Then I thought of serving them. I used to bring sweets, tea, buttermilk and ice for them every day.”
Addressing the event, President Draupadi Murmu said, “All the children have brought pride to their families, society and the entire country. Therefore, I also congratulate the family members of these children. I appreciate Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi and her entire team for organizing the award ceremony for such good and promising children.”
Talking about the significance of the day, the President said that Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 December to honor the courage and sacrifice of Sahibzadas, the sons of the tenth Guru of Sikhism, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
