Chennai, December 14 (). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin will attend the northern regional conference of the DMK youth wing to be held in Tiruvannamalai on Sunday. Party sources gave this information.
The meeting, which is being attended by young party members from the northern districts of the state, is being organized with massive preparations. The regional conference covers 91 assembly constituencies and is being presided over by Deputy Chief Minister and DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Youth workers are expected to turn up in large numbers, which shows the party’s continued effort on strengthening its organizational base among the youth members.
Ahead of the conference, Chief Minister Stalin released a video message welcoming DMK youth members to the Tiruvannamalai meeting. In the message, he described the Youth Wing as an important pillar of the party and said that such meetings are necessary to promote ideological clarity, discipline and a sense of public responsibility among the youth workers.
CM Stalin is expected to address the conference, where the focus will be on strengthening the Dravidian ideology of the party and preparing the youth wing for bigger organizational and political responsibilities.
Party leaders said the meeting was conceived not just as a platform for mobilization, but also for ideological direction and leadership development.
Referring to the party’s legacy, the Chief Minister recalled how former Chief Minister and DMK founder C.N. Annadurai welcomed his introduction in the Rajya Sabha as ‘Dravidian’.
The CM said this assertion of Dravidian identity continues to shape the party’s political philosophy and serves as a guiding principle for the current generation of DMK workers.
According to party sources, the discussions at the Tiruvannamalai conference will focus on organizational expansion, grassroots level reach, politics of social justice and effective public engagement. Especially the focus will be on youth and first time voters.
The training sessions and deliberations are expected to outline strategies to strengthen the DMK’s presence in the assembly constituencies in the northern region.
With Udhayanidhi Stalin leading the youth wing, the TMK has intensified efforts to activate youth workers and connect them more closely with the party’s governance and organization. The Tiruvannamalai Regional Conference is being seen as a major initiative in this direction, aimed at ensuring continuous dialogue and grooming future leaders.
