Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, M.B. Ghalibaf has accused America of double standards. He said that on one hand America publicly advocates diplomacy and talks about dialogue; But on the other hand, it is secretly—behind the scenes—preparing a ground attack on Iran. Giving a stern warning, he said that if tensions escalate in any way, Iran will give the strongest response; Furthermore, he stressed that Iran’s military is fully prepared for ground combat if necessary. Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Iran on Friday (March 27, 2026) claimed that it has shot down a US E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, through a series of missile and drone strikes, on the US Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. Iran’s state news agency also shared a photo of the US plane on social media platform X. Ten people were injured in this attack, out of which two are in critical condition.
Iran has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz: Navy Commander
Amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Iran’s Naval Commander has issued a major statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that Iran has full control over the Strait of Hormuz. “No one else rules here; only we will take care of it. If they (America and Israel) try to enter here, we will not allow any ship to pass through there.”
Mediation efforts continue in Pakistan
Talks are set to take place between the US and Iran—mediated by Pakistan—to end the four-week-long conflict in the Middle East and establish peace. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister announced that Islamabad is happy to host talks between the US and Iran in the coming days. However, it is not yet clear whether these interactions will be direct or indirect. No statement has been issued yet by any party on this matter.
