New Delhi, January 29 (). Many schools in the national capital Delhi were threatened with bomb attacks on Thursday morning. After this information received through unknown calls and emails, a search operation was conducted in many schools of Delhi.
Delhi Police officials said that bomb threats have been received in many schools of Delhi including Amity and Birla Vidya Niketan, after which the security of the schools has been tightened.
Police officials have appealed to the people to exercise restraint. After these schools received a bomb threat, the premises have been evacuated and an investigation is underway. Anti-sabotage teams, bomb disposal squads, local police forces, fire brigades, ambulance services and PCR teams have reached the respective schools.
He said that the safety of students, teachers, school staff and the general public is his top priority. All necessary security arrangements have been made and the situation is completely under control.
Police have appealed to the people that if anyone sees any suspicious activity or gets any information, then immediately inform 112 emergency helpline or the nearest police station.
Dwarka Court also received a bomb threat through email on Wednesday. After this threat, the court premises were immediately evacuated and the police team and bomb squad team reached the spot. However, later this threat turned out to be fake, after which the police team heaved a sigh of relief. According to the police, there was panic in Dwarka Court Complex on Wednesday morning after a bomb threat. The area was later evacuated as a precaution. Later the threat turned out to be a rumour. The email containing the bomb threat was received at around 9.30 am, but upon investigation nothing was found.
For the past few months, Delhi’s schools, colleges and government offices have been receiving such fake mails and calls. Many such fake calls were received last year. Police are now trying to find out what was the source of this information that came on Wednesday. Cyber Unit teams are trying to reach the accused through technical investigation. Security agencies have appealed to the people not to panic, but to remain alert.
