New Delhi,. The Central Board of Secondary Education, i.e. CBSE, has issued a new circular regarding the 12th board examinations to be conducted in various countries of Middle East Asia. Indian Embassy in Oman quoted the board as saying that in view of the Iran-Israel war, the 12th board examination to be held on March 9, 10 and 11 in affiliated schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE has been postponed for the time being.
Indian Embassy in Oman said, “Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular regarding Class 12 board exams in GCC on March 7. The affected countries are Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. It is scheduled for 01.03.2026, 03.03.2026 and 05.03.2026. This is the next part of the circular.” According to the advisory, after seriously reviewing the prevailing situation in some parts of the Middle East (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE), the board has decided to postpone the examination for class 12th scheduled to be held on March 9, 2026 (Monday), March 10, 2026 (Tuesday) and March 11 (Wednesday). New dates will be announced later. The board will review the situation on March 10 and take the right decisions regarding the examinations to be held from March 12.
The embassy has appealed to students to stay in constant touch with their schools, only follow official announcements from CBSE and avoid relying on unofficial sources or rumours.
According to the advisory issued earlier by the Board, the Board had decided to postpone the next two more board examinations here in view of the Iran-Israel war. The decision was taken on Tuesday, March 3, after reviewing the current critical situation in the entire region. According to the information released by the board, all the Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE board examinations scheduled on March 5 (Thursday) and March 6 (Friday) have been postponed for the time being in these countries of the Middle East.
The board says that new exam dates for these countries will be announced later. The board has clarified that the situation will be reviewed once again on March 5. In this review to be held on March 5, the board will take further decisions regarding the remaining examinations scheduled from March 7.
The board says that further decisions will be taken based on the circumstances at that time. The Board has advised all CBSE affiliated schools and students located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE to stay in touch with their respective schools and CBSE for the latest information. Also the board has urged to trust only the official announcements.
