Italy defeated Nepal by 10 wickets. This is the first victory of the Italian cricket team in the history of T20 World Cup. Italy created history by achieving the target with 46 balls remaining. Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca both scored half centuries to ensure Italy’s victory. In this match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Italy won the toss and decided to bowl first. No player from Nepal could play a big innings, due to which Nepal was out for 123 runs. In reply, Italy achieved the target in just 12.4 overs.
Two brothers created havoc
Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca started the innings for Italy. Anthony played a stormy innings of 62 runs in 32 balls, while Justin scored 60 runs in 44 balls. Together they achieved the target of 124 runs with 46 balls remaining. Together they hit 9 sixes and 8 fours. For Nepal, all the bowlers except Deependra Singh Airi and Kushal Bhurtal were thrashed.
With this win, Italy moved above England to third place in the Group C points table. Italy still has two difficult matches left, in which it has to face England and West Indies. Earlier, Ben Manenti and Krishna Kalugamage bowled dangerously and destroyed Nepal’s batting line-up. Mananti took two wickets for just 9 runs in four overs, while Kalugamage took three wickets for 18 runs in four overs.
