Chennai. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rise in temperatures across Tamil Nadu in the next three days. This may increase heat in many parts of the state. According to the latest weather bulletin, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 2 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius from Friday, which may lead to increased heat during the day. The Meteorological Department said that today the weather is likely to remain dry throughout Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. No significant changes in maximum temperatures are expected during the day, suggesting that conditions will remain relatively stable before the projected increase begins. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy in Chennai, which will provide some relief from the heat. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to range between 33 to 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to range between 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels can also add to the problem.
Meteorologists have speculated that the gradual rise in temperatures from Friday could be due to dry winds and clear skies, which usually increase the heat from the sun. Temperatures are likely to rise more in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu than in the coastal areas. However, the weather is expected to remain stable overall.
Despite expectations of rise in temperature, the Meteorological Department has not issued any specific warning for fishermen along the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Sea conditions are expected to remain normal, allowing daily fishing activities to continue without any interruption.
Meanwhile, health officials have urged the public to remain vigilant as the state now heads into the summer season. People have been advised to take necessary precautions, which include avoiding dehydration, avoiding direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day, and wearing light and breathable clothing. –
