The Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by the Assam government, submitted its 96 -page report to Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma on Wednesday (September 10) after investigating the alleged Pakistani relations of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. The report was submitted in the presence of SIT members Munna Prasad Gupta, Roshi Kalita, Pranavjyoti Goswami and Maitreyi Deka at Public Service Bhavan. Chief Minister Sarma said in a post on X that the Assam cabinet has formed an SIT to investigate ‘anti -India activities’ and ‘shocking facts’ have emerged.
The facts of SIT reports will soon be made public under the legal process. Their leaders are nervous about the fear of truth, but the victory of truth will remain.

He wrote, “On February 17, 2025, the Assam Cabinet formed an SIT to investigate anti -India activities by Pakistani citizen Ali Tauqir Sheikh and his associates. During this intensive investigation, the SIT has exposed shocking facts that pointed to a large conspiracy to weaken the country’s sovereignty.” He further said that the investigation has also revealed that the Pakistan Home Ministry had helped an Assam MP to visit the neighboring country.
He wrote, “The SIT has also come to know about the involvement of a British citizen, who is married to an Indian MP and is involved in the nefarious activities of Ali Tauqir Sheikh. In addition, the investigation also revealed that the Home Ministry of the Government of Pakistan helped an honorable MP of Assam to go to his country.” The Chief Minister said that now the state government will study the SIT report in detail. CM Sharma claimed that three out of four members of Gogoi’s family had foreign nationality.
He wrote on X, “The Assam government will now study the SIT report in detail and present it before the State Cabinet. After discussion in the cabinet, the information received in the investigation will be made public.” Meanwhile, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi claimed that CM Sharma’s allegations are based on a ‘concoction story’.
He said, “He (Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sharma) believes that the people of Assam are so foolish that they will believe their absurd allegations. He does not respect the intelligence and understanding of the people of Assam.
As opindia had already reported in her report, Gogoi’s British wife Elizabeth Kalbourne is a project manager in Delhi -based Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN). Surprisingly, Ali Tauqir Sheikh of Pakistani origin is the regional director of Asia in CDKN. He has been spreading fake news against India, especially through his X account. He also supported Gogoi to raise the issue of Delhi riots in Parliament.
Significantly, Himant Biswa Sharma had also raised serious questions on Elizabeth Kalbourne, wife of Gaurav Gogoi. He said Kalbourne spent most of its time in Pakistan between 2011-15, where he worked for organizations such as Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and Lead. Sarma claimed that Kalbourne was part of a task force of the Pakistani government, allegedly a mask of ISI.
Sarma has made serious allegations against him several times. Sarma claimed in February this year that, “Allegations of relations with ISI, to brainwashing and taking them to a radical to take them radical, to take Indian citizenship for the last 12 years, to join Indian citizenship, join the conversion gang and to destabilize national security from external sources such as George Soros will have to answer serious questions like George Soros. Sarma also mentioned Kalbourne’s British citizenship and his anti -India campaign of his supervisor Ali Tauqir Sheikh. Sarma also questioned whether ISI intervened in Assam’s Chief Minister’s Office during the tenure of Gaurav Gogoi’s father and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Home Minister Amit Shah also said the same during the debate in Parliament on Operation Sindoor on 29 July. Addressing Gogoi, he said, “You have gone to Pakistan many times, but have you ever gone to the border areas? Do you understand the circumstances in which our soldiers work?”
