Schools are on summer vacation for most of June – a time when many families travel or deal with money-related paperwork – so visiting a closed bank branch without a plan can ruin more than just your afternoon. The good thing is that there will not be much hindrance in work this week; Banks will remain open till Saturday, June 6 and the weekly holiday will be only on Sunday, June 7.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a notification regarding 11 bank holidays for June 2026, which will be applicable to all banks including State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Bank of Baroda. This list includes all Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and some selected national and regional public holidays.

Online Banking during Bank Holidays

NEFT, RTGS and IMPS transfers will be available round the clock including Sundays and government holidays. ATMs will remain operational for cash withdrawal, balance checking and mini-statement. Net Banking and Mobile Banking apps can be used to view account information, download documents, make changes to standing instructions and track requests.
Services that require a branch visit
Some transactions cannot be completed remotely. Depositing cash and checks over the counter, issuing demand drafts, using bank lockers and face-to-face KYC verification – all these activities require the branch to be open.
