The month of October is full of festivals and holidays. This time both those working in the banking sector and common customers will have to be a little cautious, as there will be a holiday in banks for a total of 21 days in October. If you do not deal with your important work in advance, then many money related work can remain incomplete.
According to the RBI holiday calendar, all banks will remain closed on 5, 12, 19 and 26th of Sunday due to Sunday in October. At the same time, there will be second and fourth Saturday holidays on October 11 and 25. That is, the banks will be closed for 6 days only due to Saturday-Sunday this month.
State wise holiday list
October 1: Dussehra/Mahanavami holiday in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
October 2: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.
October 3: All banks in the state of Sikkim will remain closed on the occasion of Durga Puja.
October 4: All the banks of Sikkim will be closed on the occasion of Durga Puja.
October 6: Lakshmi Puja holiday in West Bengal and Tripura.
October 7: Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima in Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
October 10: On the occasion of Karva Chauth, all the banks of Himachal Pradesh will be closed.
October 18: All banks in Assam will be closed on the occasion of Bihu festival.
October 20: Due to the festival of Diwali, Narak Chaturdashi and Kali Puja, all banks from all over the country will remain closed except Maharashtra, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar.
October 21: All banks in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on the occasion of Diwali Amavasya, Lakshmi Pujan, Diwali and Govardhan Puja.
October 22: All banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on the occasion of Diwali (Balipratipada), Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja and Lakshmi Puja.
October 23: All banks in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja (Diwali), Bhatri Dwitiya, Ningol Chakoba.
October 27: Banks holiday in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on Chhath festival.
October 28: Banks holiday in Bihar and Jharkhand on Chhath festival.
October 31: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will remain closed in Gujarat on Jayanti.
Customer attention
If you are going to take banking related work like cash deposits, check clearance, loan paper action, demand draft or other services in October, then plan in advance by looking at the calendar. Although online banking, UPI and ATM facilities will continue, branch-level functioning will be postponed.
