At the beginning of the new year, a big update has come out regarding the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme for farmers. Lakhs of farmers are now waiting for the 22nd installment, but before that the government has made some changes in the rules. If these important tasks are not completed on time, the next installment of Rs 2000 may be withheld. That is why it has become very important for farmers to be alert this time.
Under PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana, farmers get assistance of Rs 6000 every year. This amount is given in three installments, in which Rs 2000 is deposited directly into their accounts every four months. Till now farmers have got the benefit of 21 installments, and now everyone is waiting for the 22nd installment.
When will the 22nd installment of PM Kisan be released?
According to media reports, it is believed that the 22nd installment of PM Kisan may be released in February 2026. However, the government has not yet announced the date officially. Therefore, keep checking the updates on PM Kisan website so that you do not miss any important information.
The biggest change in PM Kisan Yojana
This time a big change has been made regarding Unique Farmer ID. The government has made it clear that e-KYC alone will not be enough. Those farmers who do not have Unique Farmer ID, their next installment may be withheld. Farmer ID is considered to be the digital identity of farmers, which will include land information, crop data, farming information and income records. The government’s objective is clear: to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach only genuine farmers and to prevent fraudulent claims. That is why Farmer ID is being linked to PM Kisan Yojana. If a farmer has not yet made a Farmer ID, his 22nd installment may be delayed.
How to do e-KYC?
E-KYC is also mandatory for PM Kisan Yojana. Payments to farmers who have not yet completed e-KYC can also be stopped.
Farmers can complete e-KYC through OTP from their mobile phone on PM Kisan website. Apart from this, they can also avail the facility of biometric KYC at the nearest CSC centre. The government has also launched face authentication feature on PM Kisan app for mobile users. Farmers can download the app, log in, and complete their e-KYC through facial recognition. The status appears on the portal approximately 24 hours after completion of e-KYC.
Reasons for delay in next installment:
Sometimes, farmers’ installments are not delayed just because of incomplete e-KYC. Mistakes in Aadhaar and bank account information are also major reasons. Difference in name spelling, closed bank account, changed IFSC code, or old bank KYC can also cause payment failure. Additionally, problems in land records can also lead to halting of installments. Old land records, pending mutation, or land disputes may make the farmer ineligible in the system. In such cases, the farmer should get his information corrected immediately.
What to do if there is a delay in the installment of Kisan Nidhi?
If a farmer’s installment is delayed or there is any discrepancy in the status, they can seek help from the CSC centre, bank, or agriculture department. The sooner the information is updated, the sooner the next installment will be credited to the account. The government has also provided helpline number and email facility to help the farmers. For any issue related to PM Kisan, farmers can call toll-free number 155261 or 1800115526. They can also contact on 011 23381092. For help by email, they can write to pmkisan-ict@gov.in.
