New Delhi: Public sector telecom company BSNL’s revenue increased by nearly 19 per cent to Rs 25,000 crore in two years due to improvements in infrastructure. The company gave this information in a statement on Monday. The statement quoted Minister of State for Communications Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani’s interview to Prasar Bharati as saying that the planned approach adopted for the transformation of BSNL has led to improvement in its financial performance.
“The financial turnaround is remarkable. BSNL’s revenue has grown from Rs 21,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore in two years. This is a good growth of 20 to 25 per cent. More importantly, there has been a huge jump in earnings before tax (EBITDA) from Rs 50 crore to about Rs 7,000 crore,” Pemmasani said, indicating improvement in operational efficiency.
