Just before Dhanteras, there has been a huge jump in the prices of gold and silver. Today, Friday, October 17, 2025, the price of gold has crossed ₹130,000 per 10 grams. According to the India Bullion and Jewelers Association, the price of 916 purity (22 carat gold) stood at ₹1,167.63 per 10 grams on the evening of Thursday, October 16, which rose to ₹1,198.81 on Friday morning. With this increase, both gold and silver prices are touching new highs ahead of Dhanteras.
Silver became cheaper on Thursday
According to the India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), gold prices rose on Thursday evening compared to morning, while silver became cheaper in the evening compared to yesterday morning.
Gold Price (999 Purity):
Morning price: ₹127,247 per 10 grams
Evening price: ₹127,471 per 10 grams
Silver Price (999 Purity):
Morning price: ₹170,850 per kg
Evening price: ₹168,083 per kg
