**Japan stops mango import**
Last month, Japan had stopped the import of mangoes from India. The move was taken due to deficiencies in pest control procedures in Indian treatment centres. This is the first time in nearly two decades that Japan has taken such a step; Earlier, Japan had imposed a ban on Indian mangoes due to fruit fly concerns, which was lifted only in 2006 after India imposed stricter measures.

After Japan, Nepal has also banned the import of mangoes after border quarantine inspectors found excessive amounts of chemical pesticides in a consignment of mangoes. Despite these hurdles, there is no dearth of Indian mango lovers across the world. Let us take a look at the countries that import the most mangoes from India.
