Zomato founder Deependra Goyal has resigned from the post of CEO of Eternal. He announced this on social media platform X. His decision to step down from the post of CEO of the company he started 18 years ago is a surprise for many people. He has written a letter to the shareholders explaining the reasons for his resignation and also hinted about his future plans. Apart from Eternal Group, Deependra is also associated with many other startups, which is probably the reason for his resignation from the post of CEO.
Why did he resign from the post of CEO?
In a post on LinkedIn, he said, “Some new ideas are attracting my attention, which involve a lot of risk and experimentation. These are ideas that would be better to work on outside of a public company like Eternal. This change will allow Eternal to maintain its focus and give me the space to work on these new ideas.”
What ideas is Deependra Goyal working on?
In recent times, Deependra Goyal’s name has been associated with many new projects. One such project is Temple, a device that Deependra has been seen wearing on his forehead at many places. Temple is a wearable device designed to monitor blood flow in the brain in real time. Deependra has been seen wearing this metallic clip on many occasions.
However, this device is still in development. Goyal is working closely with Continue Research on this project. The company has not yet given any information about when Temple will be launched or what features it will have. However, Deependra has been working on this project for some time.
Another idea is LAT Aerospace. It is an aviation startup that was launched in January 2025. The company is working on aircraft with smaller take-off and landing capabilities. Deependra recently talked about this, in which he told that the company is working on 6 to 8 seater aircraft.
These aircraft will be capable of taking-off and landing from small spaces. He told that no such aircraft has been made anywhere in the world. These aircraft will be able to operate in limited areas and can be used for short trips. Maybe these projects are the reason why Deependra Goyal decided to step down from the post of CEO of Eternal.
