An important news has come out for lakhs of students across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a major update regarding the class 10th and 12th board examinations to be held in 2026. The board has changed the dates of some subjects, which were earlier scheduled to be held on March 3, 2026. In this regard, CBSE has issued a notification on its official website cbse.gov.in giving information to students and parents.
According to CBSE, due to administrative reasons, the dates of the examinations scheduled to be held on March 3, 2026 have been changed. Class 10th exam will now be held on March 11, 2026. The new date for class 12th examination has been fixed as April 10, 2026. The board has also made it clear that except these subjects, all other examinations will be held as per the already decided schedule.
Providing information to students and parents
CBSE has appealed to all affiliated schools to provide timely information to students and their parents about this change. The board has assured that a revised date sheet will be released soon, which will have complete information about the new exam dates. Moreover, the changed dates will also be updated on the admit card of the students.
Board exams will be held in a single shift
According to the final plan of the board, class 10th and 12th board exams will be held in the same shift. Exams for most subjects will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. However, there is a slight change in the exam timings of certain subjects, which will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 noon.
