Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board has announced the dates for high school and intermediate board examinations of 2026. This year, the exams will start from February 18 and will continue till March 12. Lakhs of students from across the state will appear in these examinations. The board has made it clear that this year the examination system will be made more strong and transparent. A total of 5.23 million students are registered for the UP Board examinations of 2026. These include 2.75 million high school students and 2.479 million intermediate students. The board has taken many important steps to conduct examinations on such a large scale.

Exams will be held at 8,033 examination centers

This time, 8,033 examination centers have been set up across the state. All centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras. Center administrators have been given the responsibility to prevent any irregularities. The local administration has also been instructed to play an active role.

QR code identity card for the first time

UP Board is taking a new initiative this year. For the first time, invigilators are being given identity cards with QR codes. These identity cards were uploaded on the portal of the board on February 10, 2026. Its purpose is to prevent fake invigilators from being deployed. Complete identification will be checked during the examination.

Arrangement of room inspector till 12th February

District School Inspectors (DIOS) of all districts, along with Basic Education Officers (BSA), have been directed to ensure adequate invigilators by February 12. The board does not want there to be a shortage of invigilators at any centre.

Medical facilities will also be available

First aid facilities will be available for students and staff during the examination. The Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of all the districts have been instructed to complete the necessary arrangements by 13 February. This will ensure that any health problems during the examination can be corrected immediately.

special attention to cleanliness

The board has also laid emphasis on cleanliness around the examination centres. Chief Development Officers (CDOs) of all the districts have been instructed to ensure a clean environment around the exam centers before February 13. In urban areas, the cleanliness system will be strengthened in collaboration with the Municipal Commissioner.

18 districts declared sensitive

This time UP Board has declared 18 districts as sensitive. These include Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Kasganj, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Deoria and Gonda. Some topics and dates are considered more sensitive in these districts. Special monitoring and strict administrative arrangements will be made.

Strict action against copycats

The board has made it clear that strict action will be taken against the copying mafia and those creating trouble. Police and administration will keep an eye on the exam centre. If any discrepancy is found, immediate action will be taken.
