Chandigarh, June 21 (IANS). Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said the government has taken extensive steps to modernize the healthcare infrastructure. So that government hospitals have advanced facilities and services at par with private hospitals.

He said significant improvements are being made in medical infrastructure, diagnostic capabilities and patient care services to provide quality healthcare to every citizen.

The Chief Minister said that the Government is making dedicated efforts to upgrade the civil healthcare infrastructure on a large scale so that quality healthcare services are available to every citizen in government hospitals.

He emphasized that making Haryana’s public health system more efficient, accessible and patient-centric is the top priority of the government, and continuous initiatives are being taken to strengthen health facilities and improve service delivery across the state.

The Chief Minister said this while chairing a review meeting on the state’s healthcare infrastructure, modernization of government hospitals and construction of medical colleges at the Civil Secretariat.

Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary AK Singh, National Health Mission Director RS Dhillon and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.

Reviewing the ongoing renovation and renovation works in government hospitals across the State, the Chief Minister said that civil hospitals in all districts should be upgraded such that they become more convenient and citizen-friendly as compared to private hospitals.

He also reviewed the ongoing renovation works in hospitals of Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Hisar, Kaithal, Mahendragarh, Palwal, Panchkula, Rewari, Sonipat and Nuh districts and issued necessary instructions to the officials.

The Chief Minister said that due to the increasing number of facilities in government hospitals, there has been a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, who are opting for treatment in these institutions.

In 2024-25, the government paid claims worth Rs 26 crore for the treatment of 8.83 per cent of beneficiaries under the scheme.
