A big news has come out regarding Rajasthan’s 2021 Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination. The candidates have suffered a setback from the court. The Jaipur bench of the Rajasthan High Court has upheld the single bench’s decision to cancel the recruitment process. The Division Bench has also ruled to cancel the recruitment for 859 posts. The Supreme Court had earlier stayed the decision of the single bench and directed the High Court to dispose of the matter as soon as possible.
Elaborating on this, Advocate Harendra Neel said, “The Court has upheld the decision of the Single Bench. The Division Bench has also held that the observations of the Single Bench regarding the members of the RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) were correct. It is no longer possible to conduct the screening process on the basis of the results of the present recruitment examination; hence, the examination stands cancelled.” SI Recruitment 2021 exam notification was released on February 3, 2021, and the recruitment exam for 859 posts was held between September 13 to September 15, 2021.
Around 8 lakh candidates applied
After hearing the arguments of all the parties, the division bench of the High Court had reserved its decision on January 19. The unsuccessful candidates had staged massive protests demanding cancellation of the recruitment. A total of about 7,97,000 candidates had applied for this examination.
More than 110 people arrested
The SIT (Special Investigation Team) probing the case has so far arrested more than 110 people—including around 60 candidates who were selected. Several members of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, who were in office at that time, were also arrested and sent to jail. This decision was taken by Acting Chief Justice of High Court S.P. The division bench headed by Sharma pronounced.
Question on the role of RPSC members
This recruitment examination, held from September 13 to September 15, 2021, was surrounded by controversies from the beginning. Due to the rigging and irregularities in this examination, this decision of the court has now endangered the future of those candidates who were selected honestly. Meanwhile, SOG (Special Operations Group) is continuing its crackdown against the “paper mafia” involved in the paper leak scam. Many members of the paper mafia associated with this recruitment examination are currently behind bars. Questions were also raised regarding the role of RPSC members in this recruitment exam case.
