Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the merit list of Civil Services Final Exam. Anuj Agnihotri has topped the UPSC CSE exam. Anuj Agnihotri, resident of Rajasthan, has topped the UPSC CSE exam 2026. Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull secured second and third positions one after the other. The commission said that a total of 958 candidates passed the exam. The results were declared on Friday, 6 March. According to the official notice, a total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and various central services in Group A and Group B.
Who is Anuj Agnihotri?
Anuj Agnihotri is a resident of Rawatbhata, a small town near Kota, Rajasthan. He completed his primary schooling there and then went to Jodhpur for higher education. He earned Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS, Jodhpur). After this he completed his internship. Instead of pursuing a medical career, he chose the administrative path. Earlier, Anuj joined DANICS, which is part of the administrative division of Central Civil Services (Group B).
Anuj passed UPSC CSE exam in his fifth attempt. In a post on Instagram, he said, “Oh my God, I can’t believe it. God is great. Six years of hard work finally paid off. Got AIR 1 in my fifth attempt.” Topper also acknowledged the role of his parents and said, “Thank you to my mom, dad and all my teachers.”
