New Delhi, January 23 (IANS). 76 percent of India’s employers will create new jobs across sectors in the first half of 2026. This information was given in a report.

According to Naukri India’s biennial survey based on inputs from over 1,250 employment providers, the healthcare sector is set to lead the way with 88 per cent of new jobs.

At the same time, 79 percent of the jobs coming in the manufacturing sector in the first half of 2026 will be new roles.

In BFSI (Banking Finance Services and Insurance) this figure will be 70 percent and for IT sector it will be 76 percent.

Dr. Pawar Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com, said, “In the first half of 2026, 76 percent of employment providers will focus on providing new jobs.”

On loss of jobs due to AI, the report said that 87 percent of employment providers believe that AI will not have any significant impact on jobs.

On the other hand, 18 percent of job providers on AI believe that now new job opportunities are being created with the advent of AI. These are especially in IT, analytics and marketing.

Goyal said, AI is emerging as a catalyst for the creation of new roles, especially in the IT, analytics and marketing sectors. “This development shows the importance of continued skills development as companies prepare for the next phase of workforce transformation.”

Hiring demand for early to mid-level professionals is expected to increase, with the IT and manufacturing sectors playing a leading role in mid-level recruitment, while the healthcare sector will boost entry-level roles.

According to the report, 69 per cent of IT employment providers expect mid-level professionals (4-7 years of experience) to be in highest demand, while 65 per cent of healthcare sector employment providers plan to recruit candidates with 0-3 years of experience, reflecting the trend towards new talent in the sector.
