New Delhi, January 4 (IANS). In today’s fast-paced life, we often fail to pay attention to our body. In such a situation, fatigue and illness begin to set in before age. Both Ayurveda and science emphasize on paying more attention to diet. Ayurveda says that our body is shaped by the kind of food we eat.
According to Ayurveda, the day should be started with hot water. It fulfills the lack of water in the body and activates the digestive system. This strengthens Agni, i.e. the digestive power. If some lemon is squeezed into it, its effect increases further. This habit helps in gradually cleansing the body and can also be helpful in weight balance.
Nowadays, the food available in the market may look tasty, but it is harmful for health. Science says that packed food increases inflammation in the body and Ayurveda considers it heavy and increasing the doshas. If such food is eaten daily, the body starts becoming lethargic. If fresh, simple and less processed food is eaten at home, then health remains healthy.
Meal timing also matters. By eating at fixed time, the body works in a rhythm. Due to this, blood sugar remains balanced and one does not feel hungry again and again. When there is proper gap between the meal and the next meal, digestion remains fine and the habit of overeating automatically reduces.
Apart from this, it is also important to ensure that every essential nutrient is present in your plate. Often there is roti or rice in our plate, but there is a lack of protein. To give strength to the body, pulses, milk, curd, cheese, sprouted grains, fruits and vegetables are necessary. These vegetables give the body strength to fight diseases and adequate water keeps the body fresh.
