New Delhi, April 24 (IANS). In today’s busy life, stress, anxiety and deteriorating lifestyle are affecting our heart and lungs the most. Constantly increasing mental pressure, working long hours, pollution and irregular routine gradually makes the body weak.
In such a situation, people are adopting yoga to keep themselves healthy. One of these is Anjali Mudra, which is also commonly called Namaste Mudra or Prayer Mudra. This posture works to create balance between body, mind and breath.
In Anjali Mudra both the palms are joined. According to yoga experts, when both the palms join together, a balance begins to be created between the body and the brain. This calms the mind and the speed of breathing gradually starts getting controlled. This process helps in benefiting the heart and lungs.
When a person takes deep and slow breaths while doing Anjali Mudra, oxygen reaches the lungs better. This balances the breathing process and the lungs start working more actively. Regular exercise can improve lung function. This posture is considered very beneficial for those who feel tired quickly or suffer from the problem of rapid breathing due to stress.
Slow and deep breathing helps in improving the oxygen level in the body, which maintains energy in the body.
The effect of Anjali Mudra is also considered positive on the heart. This posture focuses on the middle part of the chest i.e. the heart chakra. When a person practices this posture with a calm mind, stress starts reducing. Reducing stress has a direct impact on heart health, because excessive stress can affect heartbeats and blood pressure.
Anjali Mudra helps in reducing the mental pressure on the heart by calming the mind.
Apart from this, Anjali Mudra also helps in creating balance between the two parts of the brain. This increases concentration and improves the ability to think and understand.
This posture is also considered physically beneficial. This provides flexibility to the muscles of hands, wrists and arms. This light exercise can be relieving for people working on computers or mobile phones for long hours. Besides, it also works to calm the body from within.
